The General Council of the Assemblies of God

The Assemblies of God was founded in 1914 in Hot Springs, Arkansas with 300 people at the founding convention. Today, there are close to 13,000 churches in the U.S. with nearly 3 million members and adherents. From the beginning, evangelism and missions have been central to the identity of the Assemblies of God and have resulted in continuing growth at home and abroad. The aggressive missions programs of the church are designed to establish self-supporting and self-propagating national church bodies in every country.
