Hope for Barcelona

I'm a second-generation missionary who grew up in Kenya, but I never expected God to call me into missions myself. I knew He was calling me to ministry, but I wasn't sure what that would look like until I interned at the International Church of Barcelona after Bible school. From my very first Sunday, I had an overwhelming sense that this was where God was calling me to serve. Since then, I have never felt more at home or more convinced that Barcelona is where God has placed me. Although many people think of Spain as a Christian nation, just over 1% of the population identifies as evangelical Christian, making it one of the least-reached countries in Western Europe. At the International Church of Barcelona, our mission is to be a vibrant and multiplying community, bringing people from all nations into a growing and transformative relationship with Jesus, discipling and equipping them to impact Catalunya and the rest of the world for Christ. In my role, I help create environments where people can encounter Jesus by overseeing our Sunday gatherings and special services, while also developing young leaders to serve and lead in the local church. I also coordinate and host 10–15 short-term missions teams each year, equipping churches from around the world to partner with the work God is doing in Barcelona. Every part of my ministry is focused on strengthening the local church so that more people can hear the Gospel, become disciples of Jesus, and be sent out to impact their communities and nations. I believe God is bringing revival to Spain, and I am honored to play a part in what He is doing!
