Campaign Story

What if the most effective ministry in a secular city isn't a church?

In Grenoble, France — one of Europe's most educated and proudly secular cities — we've learned something that has reshaped how we think about mission.

You can't reach people who won't walk through a church door by building a better church door.

You reach them by going where they already are. By sitting across from them. By earning the conversation before you ever mention God.

That's what this project funds.

TWO SPACES. ONE MISSION.

On a single street in Grenoble, two spaces sit side by side.

Pilgrim Coffee House is a community café built around genuine relationship. It doesn't look like a church or ask anything of the people who walk through its door. Just good coffee and honest conversation. In a city where the church has been largely irrelevant for a generation, walls come down over a cup of coffee in a way they never do in a Sunday service. We've seen it with our own eyes.

The Prayer Space sits next door. One purpose: prayer for the city of Grenoble. Churches from different denominations and traditions gather here to pray not for their church, but for their city.

The sacred and the secular are not opposites here. They are neighbors.

This past Easter, 17,800 people were baptized across France — the highest number in over two decades. Adult baptisms have grown 160% in ten years. The secular city is asking questions again. These two spaces exist to be present when it does.

WHAT $15,000 DOES:

$15,000 keeps both doors open for one full year.

$15,000 — The Prayer Space · rent, utilities, maintenance, programming
$10,000 — Pilgrim Coffee House · operating costs, supplies, community events

Every dollar goes directly to keeping these two spaces open, active, and available to the people of Grenoble.
One Street. One year. Two doors that stay open because someone said yes.
